From 2005 until March 2014, Viso was a member of the Board of Directors of Patheon Inc., a multinational firm that manufactures prescription drugs for pharmaceutical companies under contract manufacturing and joint venture agreements.  Patheon Inc. acquired MOVA Pharmaceutical Corporation, a company founded in 1986 by Viso, in December 2004.  Until November 1986, Viso was President and General Manager of SmithKline (now Glaxo SmithKline) operations in Puerto Rico.

Viso served on the Board of Directors of the Government Development Bank for Puerto Rico, Puerto Rico Governor’s Strategic Advisory Council, the Boards of Corporation for Technological Transformation, Genomas, Inc., Scotiabank of Puerto Rico, the Puerto Rico Manufacturers Association, the Universidad Central del Caribe, United Way of Puerto Rico, the American Red Cross, and the Advisory Board of Banco Popular de Puerto Rico.

In 1999, Viso was named «Businessman of the Year» at the national level by the U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.  He was also awarded the Distinguished Award by the International Center of New York. Viso received a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Puerto Rico and a M.S. in Engineering from the University of Michigan.
