Víctor M. Rodríguez-Reyes joined Ferraiuoli LLC is a Senior Associate. Prior to joining Ferraiuoli, Mr. Rodríguez developed most of his career in the health and insurance industries working as In–house Counsel for Medical Card System, Inc. and as Compliance Officer at the Puerto Rico branch of the Office of Public Health Preparedness and Response. His experience includes litigation of administrative proceedings before the Commissioner of Insurance, the Puerto Rico Health Insurance Administration, and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. Mr. Rodríguez has actively participated in high-profile negotiations involving hospitals, software companies, and government entities, and the bidding processes for public health plan contracts.
Additionally, as a legal intern in the Intellectual Property Litigation Department of Clifford Chance in Barcelona, Spain he participated in the preparation of oral arguments for patent infringement and unfair competition hearings; and performed prior art research for patentability analysis of patent applications. Prior to his work at Clifford Chance he collaborated with Amat & Vidal-Quadras Law Firm, also in Barcelona, Spain in the development of a webpage devoted to the compilation of all Intellectual Property laws and regulations from Spain, Portugal and Latin America. Mr. Rodríguez has offered advice to clients in Puerto Rico on protection of software copyrights and trade secrets. He recently approved the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office examination for patent attorneys.
His principal areas of practice include health, insurance, and intellectual property law; along with relevant experience in the acquisition and use of federal grants. Mr. Rodríguez co-authored the article The Income and Consumption Tax Reform in the United States, published in the Journal of Social Economics and Business of the Cooperative Institute for Public Economics and Financial Law, in Barcelona, Spain. He recently passed the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office bar for patent attorneys.
Mr. Rodríguez is also a Board Certified Chemist and has performed undergraduate research at the Argonne National Laboratory and the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras Campus in the fields of atmospheric chemistry and physical chemistry.
